SIG Swiss RIA

The Swiss RIA SIG promotes the application of Java-based Rich Internet Application (RIA) technologies.

RIA promises to close the gap between Web and desktop applications. The RIA market is about to move into the early majority phase. However, the technology shakehout has not really started yet and RIA developers have to cope with a staggering number of options. This SIG provides a platform for exchanging information about and experience with Rich Internet Application technologies. Although the focus is mainly on Java-based RIAs, other RIA technologies should not be excluded but rather complement the topic.

The SIG mainly organizes presentations and discussions for information dissemination and to get RIA developers to know each other. It is vendor agnostic and clearly prefers first hand experience over sales presentations.

The Swiss RIA SIG is a special interest group of the Java User Group Switzerland (JUG'S) and is hosted by Bruno Schäffer (Canoo Engineering AG) and Sascha Freitag (Credit Suisse).
